| This Sunday will culminate a weekend of discipleship and evangelism with teenagers at Hyde Park Baptist/The Quarries Church. Steven Scifers and his team planned and led this event, and we are praying for spiritual fruit to grow in the lives of young people as a result. Our guest preacher this Sunday at the Hyde Park campus is a dynamic, young church planter and visionary named Jurie Kriel. Jurie was a mega-church pastor in Pretoria, South Africa when the Lord began whispering to his heart about starting a church in Austin, Texas. Jurie's vision is to raise up a dynamic congregation in the hardest place in Austin - the heart of downtown. You won’t want to miss this young leader’s incredible message! Our young people will be challenged along with everyone else! This Sunday night is the conclusion of our video/discussion-based prayer series Engaging With God. This week we look at the all-important ministry of intercession. I urge you to attend this final session! In addition, Marjorie and Hixon Frank are leading Shepherding A Child's Heart. Young families can especially benefit from this class. You can attend Shepherding A Child's Heart while your kids are in KaBaM! Our search for a Worship Pastor continues. While we have no decision at this time, we are still reviewing resumes and conducting serious interviews. Keep praying, as I feel we are getting closer to a decision. In the meantime I am deeply grateful to God for the interim leadership that has been provided by Dr. Leo Day and Christopher Vlasek. These are two of the finest men to work with we could have asked for during the last few months. Our church has been, and continues to be, blessed by their excellent leadership. The Unceasing Prayer Movement is having a City-Wide Prayer Gathering at Hyde Park Baptist Church on Thursday, March 7! Please come pray and support our church as we host this dynamic special event! Many of our people missed worship last week due to the Austin Marathon, so I hope everyone is back this Sunday! Remember to pray for our Youth Ministry. |
