Engaging Austin to passionately pursue Jesus.
This vision helps define our focus--everything we do as a church grows out of this statement of vision.
1) It's ultimately about Jesus!
2) It's about more than our desire to follow Jesus, it's about a passionate pursuit--He deserves all our energy and focus!
3) It's about even more than our passionate pursuit of Jesus--it can't stop there. For us the ministry is outward focused--we want to engage our entire city to passionately pursue Jesus, too.
Our 5 Priorities
"We believe Jesus Christ deserves all our worship and praise. Therefore, we will enthusiastically gather as the church with one main objective: to passionately pursue Jesus!"
Scripture: "But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him.
God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." (John 4:23-24)
Focus Goal: Our goal is to average 2,000 people in worship attendance by 2021
Currently we have 3 main English speaking worship services at Hyde Park Baptist and The Quarries Church plus multiple language congregations. In addition to continuing our desire to be faithful, creative, and prepared for a great experience every Sunday, we believe the following actions will help improve our annual average worship attendance.
🔹Action: Focus more positive outreach on the 4 neighborhoods closest to the Hyde Park Campus: (Hyde Park, Mueller, Triangle, and Tarrytown), and the multiple neighborhoods surrounding The Quarries Church
🔹Action: Assist our existing language churches to be more effective in building their weekly average attendance, and encourage the development of additional language congregations as Austin continues to grow as one of the most "international" cities in Texas
🔹Action: Focus more attention on inviting the community and growing attendance on "special days" such as Easter, Mother's Day, Graduate Recognition Sunday, Independence Day, etc
🔹Action: Promote special "theme" Sunday's which could include special musical artists and guest speakers who attract an unreached audience; special musical emphasis spotlighting different genres of church music, and other creative "special" events
🔹Action: Constantly improve the appearance and comfort of our facilities to promote the best "first impression" possible so people always feel welcome and want to return
🔹Action: We must be more intentional and culturally relevant in public relations, social media, advertising, and other emerging media platforms, in order to build community awareness and as we invite more people to attend our services.
🔹Action: Work with Hyde Park Schools to ensure that every family in our school and every family who applies to our school is invited to worship at HP/QC
Focus Goal: Begin a third campus (in addition to Hyde Park & The Quarries) by 2019
🔹Action: Work with The Austin Baptist Association to identify highly populated, under-churched areas of our city
🔹Action: Enlist a task force of our own members to help develop all aspects of a plan to launch a third location for multi-site ministry
🔹Action: Work with the ministry staff to develop initial and ongoing plans to successfully minister in multiple locations
Focus Goal: Begin at least one new worship service by 2018 using existing HP/QC facilities
🔹Action: Staff will begin immediately studying opportunities, reviewing options, and making plans, for additional worship services. We will work with all existing church committees and normal church processes for a successful implementation
🔹Action: Church staff will recruit and train volunteers to assist in new worship services
GROW"We believe people's lives are transformed by the Word of God. Furthermore, we believe, due to our history, our gifting, and our vision, we are strategically positioned to be one of the leading Bible teaching churches in Central Texas. Therefore, we will passionately pursue spiritual growth for everyone through excellent Bible teaching classes and communities called GROW GROUPS."
Scripture: "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Focus Goal: Our goal is to reach an annual average of 1,600 people in our "Grow Groups" (Sunday School & Community Groups) by 2021
🔹Action: The Discipleship Ministry at both existing campuses will emphasize our
core SS/CG values (excellence in Bible teaching, fellowship, care ministry, prayer, and outreach) through ongoing and constantly improved leadership training. These training events will be held quarterly at a minimum at each campus and at least annually in a combined setting
🔹Action: To encourage unity and more effective operations throughout our Discipleship ministry, we will refer to Sunday School classes and Community Groups as "GROW GROUPS" when referring to to the discipleship process of our church at all locations
🔹Action: The Discipleship Ministry will launch 3 new GROW GROUPS (SS classes) each quarter beginning in Fall 2017 at the Hyde Park Campus
🔹Action: The Discipleship Ministry will launch multiple Sunday morning options for GROW GROUPS (Community Groups) at The Quarries Church beginning no later than Fall 2017
🔹Action: Staff will continue to work with existing volunteer leadership at both locations, as well as enlist and equip new volunteer leaders needed for successful groups
🔹Action: Staff will focus on developing closer compatibility between the HP and the QC discipleship process while recognizing the unique qualities and history of each and drawing from the existing strengths of each approach. We must have a more consistent approach to discipleship at all locations in order to simplify and improve the process and avoid reduplication of effort as one church in multiple locations
🔹Action: The Church will recognize the success of any GROW GROUP by how frequently it reproduces itself. Every GROW GROUP should encourage and help to launch new groups.
🔹Action: The Discipleship Staff will hold itself accountable to the priority of enlarging and expanding the leadership organization required to continue growing spiritually and numerically. This will mean setting and achieving leadership enlistment goals each quarter for each area of ministry (children - adults) with a minimum annual net increase of 10-20% new leaders and volunteers in every ministry area (children- adults)
🔹Action: Believing in the importance of each person feeling personally connected to the group and friends in the group, the Discipleship Staff will encourage and promote multiple fellowship opportunities each year with a minimum of one per quarter at each location with the understanding that many smaller fellowships must constantly occur throughout the year
🔹Action: To constantly promote the significance of personal relationships and fellowship, the Discipleship Staff will conduct regular training opportunities designed to make us better at the task of connecting people in the groups, from the smallest levels to the largest levels of the GROW GROUP ministry (children-adults)
"We believe every member is a minister in the Kingdom of God. Therefore, as a church we will passionately minister to one another, and the world, to the glory of God."
Scripture: "For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." (2 Corinthians 4:5)
Focus Goal: We will involve 100% of our new members in at least one ministry/service opportunity within the first year of their membership
🔹Action: The Discipleship staff and the Worship and Media staff will begin immediately offering and promoting multiple and diverse training opportunities to equip 100% of our new members on an on-going basis

🔹Action: The Senior Pastor and the Executive Staff will work with the Finance Committee, The Deacon Body, and other appropriate groups within our church leadership to determine the specific needs and scope of near future Capital Growth Challenges
Focus Goal: As our church reaches deeper and wider into the community, funds for ministry must be available for service and growth. Therefore, we propose a generosity strategy which will increase our Ministry Budget and receipts to at least $6,750,000 annually by 2021.
🔹 Action: The Ministry Staff will provide a variety of stewardship educational materials and other teaching, regarding the biblical basis of generous living and giving from childhood through adulthood

Scripture: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20)
